Whisperwings

Today's post is a gift for an artist on deviantart known as Whisperwings/Alicia Gutscher.

You can read about her, and find a link to her page, in this lovely journal a friend of mine wrote: http://gryffgirl.deviantart.com/journal/Color-of-Hope-426355024

The piece is Cinderella, as some of you might guess. I don't think seamstress mice were in the true original Grimm's fairytale, so including the pearl necklace and sewing stuff, I definitely was inspired by Disney. Along the way, I changed to a more personal take as you can see in the process work.

A lot of news

This blog has been relatively silent for a while, and for good reason. This past semester has been extremely busy as I began a second major in graphic design.

At the end of the semester I discovered that at this time I have projects which I really want to return to in illustration. What I have learned in graphic design is very valuable, so I do plan to continue enriching my knowledge of the subject, but more on the side. It was a good experience, with great teachers and enthusiastic classmates. I'm now getting back into drawing and trying to prepare for a post grad program.

I recently finished a book cover commission for C.A. Allen:
